Our approach features lots of one-on-one individualized project learning for each student, while allowing those not currently engaged in the academic project of the day to chose from an array of free play activities. We have a rich curriculum covering literacy, math, art, social studies, and science. The children often chose to create their own art or building projects or participate with their classmates in imaginary play. There is daily chapel time in the church sanctuary featuring weekly Bible lessons from Concordia Publishing House’s “One in Christ” curriculum. There are also daily opportunities for the children to play in the fresh air on the playground or do other outdoor activities on the church property like walks in the woods, playing in the snow, or earthworm hunts. If the temperature is below freezing or it is raining we still are able to exercise the children’s growing muscles in out full sized gymnasium.
