Preschool

As a Lutheran school, we focus on educational excellence for mind and body. Each day is filled with math, language arts, music, art, and motor activity. There are also weekly science lessons.

Note: Before- and after-care is available from 7:45 a.m.-9:00 a.m., and from 3:45 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Both the preschool and childcare programs follow the Monroe County Community School Corporation calendar for holidays, breaks, and summer vacation.

Multi-Age Preschool Classes

These classes are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m.-3:45 p.m.

Our approach features lots of one-on-one individualized project learning for each student, while allowing those not currently engaged in the academic project of the day to choose from an array of free-play activities. We have a rich curriculum covering literacy, math, art, social studies, science, and more. The children often choose to create their own art, building projects, or participate with their classmates in imaginary play. There is daily chapel time in the church sanctuary featuring weekly Bible lessons from Concordia Publishing House’s “One in Christ” curriculum. There are also daily opportunities for the children to play in the fresh air on the playground or do other outdoor activities on the church property like walks in the woods, playing in the snow, or earthworm hunts. If the temperature is below freezing or it is raining we still are able to exercise the children’s growing muscles in our full-sized gymnasium.

Childcare

We use Spiritual/Social Living, Communications, Wellness, Discovery about the World (SCEWD) curriculum and materials from the Developmental Milestones from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for our Christian Child Care classes.

Childcare sessions are available Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and follow the Monroe County Community School Corporation calendar for holidays, breaks, and summer vacation.
